Guests with a Disability

We want your visit to Wet‘n’Wild Water World to be a fun-filled day you’ll never forget. That is why we do all we can to ensure your day is not only memorable, but is as safe and accessible as possible. We hope the details below and attached guide provide you with all the necessary information to assist you in planning your visit. Our friendly staff are also committed to assist in any way they can on the day.

Accessible Parking

Parking for guests with a physical disability is available adjacent to the main gate entrance ramp. These car parking spaces are clearly marked with the International Disability Symbol.

Entrance Prices

As not all attractions are fully accessible to people with a disability we do offer a discounted rate for guests who:

  • use a wheelchair
  • have an intellectual, aural or visual disability
  • have a Disability Pension Card

Until 31 July 2011
- Disabled rates are available upon application at the ticket booths only.
- A carer accompanying a disabled guest for the sole purpose of assisting that disabled guest will be admitted free of charge providing a current valid "Carer's Card" (or similar) issued by relevant State or Commonwealth authorities is produced.

Effective from 1 August 2011
- Disabled admission rates are available for purchase at the ticket booths only on the day of your visit upon the presentation of a State or Commonwealth issued Disability Pension Card.
- A guest with a disability who produces their Companion Card.(http://www.companioncard.gov.au/) is entitled to one (1) free of charge companion ticket so that their companion can provide attendant care support during the visit.
- Guests who produce a Carer's Card (or similar) issued by relevant State or Commonwealth authorities (as opposed to a Companion Card) will only be entitled to a discounted admission rate.

You are welcome to call Guest Services on 07 5556 1610 before your visit to discuss your eligibility for these rates. There is accessible entry at the main gate.

Enjoy your day with a companion

Guests with a disability may consider visiting the park with someone who can physically assist them if necessary.

Guest Services

If you would like help planning your day you can see the Guest Services team, located at the entrance to the park. Access to this office is available from both inside and outside the park.

First Aid

Registered Nurses staff Wet‘n’Wild’s First Aid Centre. Any personal medical equipment, for example ventilators, may be stored and used at First Aid. First Aid does not supply such equipment for everyday use. Medicine that needs refrigeration may also be stored at First Aid.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located at the main entrance, Buccaneer Bay and Extreme H2O Zone.

Lockers

Locker hire is available from all shopping and dining outlets. The lockers are allocated randomly, so if you require an accessible locker please see our staff at the Photo Centre and they will be happy to arrange this for you.

Wheelchair and Stroller Hire

A limited number of wheelchairs and strollers are available from Guest Services at a minimal cost.

Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs

Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs are welcome in the park. However we cannot permit them on, or in, any of our attractions and they must wear their working vest identifying their role at all times

Casts and strapped limbs

As we have a duty of care to our guests, we do not allow any guest with a visible injury, such as a hard cast, to ride any of the water slides. Guests with such injuries are permitted to utilise the Wave Pool, Whirlpool Springs, Calypso Beach, and if under 10 yrs of age, Buccaneer Bay. Guests with a disability, strapping or bandages to a limb can be assessed by the Park Supervisor on an individual basis to determine if their capabilities comply with ride requirements and procedures.

Guests with an amputation or prosthesis

For safety reasons, guests with an amputated limb or prosthesis may be unable to use some of our attractions. As situations vary, guests are assessed on an individual basis to determine which attractions can be undertaken safely. This can be done on the day you attend Wet’n’Wild or prior to by visiting or contacting our Guest Services office on 07 5556 1610.

Guests with Epilepsy and motion sickness

Some of our attractions are not recommended for guests with Epilepsy, motion sickness or those who experience seizures. We suggest you contact Guest Services prior to your visit or call into the office upon arrival. The park supervisor is able to assess guests on an individual basis and advise which attractions will be most suitable.

Eye Wear

In accordance with Australian Standard 3533.2 (1997) for the safety of all guests, eye wear including goggles and prescription glasses are not permitted on any of our rides or slides. However, these items may be worn in the Wave Pool, Calypso Beach, Whirlpool Springs and Buccaneer Bay lagoon.
